Vienna Holiday Decorating Contest Nominees Announced: Vote For Your Favorite

VIENNA, VA — The annual Town of Vienna Holiday Decorating Contest has its 2022 nominees ready for voting.

The contest held by the Town Business Liaison Committee and Vienna Parks and Recreation encourages residents to get out and see home and business holiday displays. Residents can choose their favorite home and business display, and judges will also select their top three business displays.

The winning business will receive one volunteer hours from Mayor Linda Colbert as guest employee. Winning residents will receive a Town of Vienna holiday ornament and a gift card from a local business.

Residents and businesses were invited to nominate their holiday displays by Dec. 1. Winners will be announced at the Town of Vienna Holiday Reception on Dec. 9 at the Vienna Community Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on the town's social media on Dec. 17.

Public voting will be open until 12 p.m. on Dec. 9. Residents may view a map of the nominees and visit the homes and businesses before deciding which to vote for. Note sheets are available to take notes on participating residents and businesses.

There's an incentive for residents to visit as many business displays as possible. Residents can take a photo of participating business displays and share it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with hashtag #ShineBrightVienna and tag @TownofViennaVA and @ExploreViennaVA to be entered into a drawing for local business gift cards. For each participating business visited and shared in a social media post, the resident gets one entry. Contest winners will be notified on social media by Dec. 12.

While some nominated home displays are outside the Town of Vienna and not eligible for the contest, residents are encouraged to stop by these displays.
