The five Corner Bakery Cafe locations in the Northern Virginia area (the only Corner Bakeries in Virginia according to the Corner Bakery website) are now giving a 10 percent discount to senior citizens. However, like most stores that give discounts, the Corner Bakery does not advertise this fact so you will not see any signs to this effect in their stores. Therefore, you must ask for the discount before the cashier finalizes your order on the cash register.

Additionally, The Home Depot and Lowe's give a 10 percent discount to active and retired military but they do not advertise this fact either. And, you must show your military ID card and ask for the discount before the cashier rings up your items on the cash register. The Home Depot will also provide the discount if you are using their self-service system but you must show your military ID to the attending associate before you press the "Pay Now" button.
