Assistance League of Northern Virginia Member Volunteers Join Together to Assemble 450 Toiletry Kits for Students in Need
Nonprofit's New Clothing for Kids program provides clothing, shoes and essential grooming products to children at Title I schools.
Following the Regular Monthly Meeting in May, Assistance League of Northern Virginia held a second workshop to assemble over 450 toiletry kids for students in need at three Title I schools served by the all-volunteer nonprofit. The New Clothing for Kids program provides clothing, shoes and essential grooming products to children whose families are in extreme need. The toiletry kits include basic products such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant. Students in 5th and 6th grade receive individual toiletry kits in conjunction with a Hygiene Unit in Physical Education class. Special thank you to VP Philanthropy, Jeanne Sclater and Program Coordinator, Mary Jo Adams for leading the New Clothing for Kids program which impacts the lives of many children in our community.
