Assistance League of Northern Virginia Receives Generous Grant of $9,000

Assistance League® of Northern Virginia receives a generous grant of $9,000 from the Rotary Club of Dunn Loring-Merrifield. The funds will support the nonprofit's signature Operation School Bell® program, Weekend Food for Kids. This critical program currently provides 1650 bags of food each month during the school year to children who are food insecure in six Title I elementary schools in Northern Virginia. The Dunn Loring-Merrifield Rotary has been a generous supporter of this program since 2013, and the donation made will support the organization's efforts to provide weekend food to children at Pine Spring Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia. The nonprofit is privileged and grateful to receive funding from this community leadership organization.

This year, the Rotary Club of Dunn Loring-Merrifield is supporting 32 additional service projects in our community, from providing college scholarships to students and helping teens in distress to fighting homelessness.
