Athlete of the Week: Nate Favero

Madison faced Liberty District powerhouse Langley last week and jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first seven points of the game. Even as the Saxons came back, Nate Favero's long-range shooting kept the Warhawks in the game.

Favero finished the game with 13 points, though Madison fell 63-51. His efforts earned him Vienna Patch's Athlete of the Week.

Madison hasn't had the type of season it hoped for in the district, but Favero remains confident that they can get back on track.

“We’ve just got to keep battling. Some calls haven’t gone our way. All we can do is keep battling,” Favero said. “(We can) work harder on defense. Defense is just all effort. We’ve just got to keep up the effort.”

The Warhawks will try to do that when they return to action Tuesday at Jefferson.
