Best Thanksgiving 2018 Gas Prices By Town In DC And NoVA
Gas prices are lower than past months, but you can gas up for less in some areas more than others.
WASHINGTON, DCâThis Thanksgiving, we can be thankful for lower gas prices in Virginia. According to AAA, Tuesday's gas price average in Virginia was $2.38, a significant drop from $2.63 a month ago. It's also much lower than the $2.61 national average and similar to the $2.30 of last Thanksgiving.
DC appears to be trending in the opposite direction. The district's $2.84 average gas price is higher than the national average and last Thanksgiving's $2.74. If there's any consolation, the price a month ago was $2.98.
"The nearly 49 million Americans hitting the road for Thanksgiving will find pump prices similar to last year,â said AAA spokesperson Jeanette Casselano in a news release. "When it comes time to fill-up during the trip, motorists should keep in mind that gas stations along highly traveled routes may find prices more expensive than in-town."

If you're filling up the tank on the way to Thanksgiving dinners, you may want to consider which areas have the lowest prices. Northern Virginia jurisdictions have some of the highest average gas prices, although some gas stations will offer prices below average.
We've rounded up average prices in by town and where you can find the lowest price, according to AAA. Prices are based on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
