Bomb Threat Called Into Vienna Giant: Weekly Crime Report
The Vienna Giant had received an automated message that there were multiple bombs in the store over Labor Day weekend.

VIENNA, VA—Police gave an all clear after a bomb threat called into the Vienna Giant grocery store (359 Maple Avenue East) this week.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Labor Day, an employee reported an automated call saying there were multiple bombs in the store. Police evacuated and searched the store, but they did not find any explosives.
Police continue to investigate.

Suspicious Person 17-008102
Meadow Lane Park
501 Meadow Lane, SW
Between July 5 at 3:00 p.m. and September 5 at 10:45 a.m.
A citizen reported that on several occasions she has observed a suspicious man sitting in his
vehicle at the park for several hours staring at children and adults. The citizen was advised to
notify the police immediately if she sees the man at the park again.
500 Moorefield Road, SW
Between September 4 at 11:00 a.m. and September 5 at 11:00 a.m.
A resident advised that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his key fob for the
vehicle along with other miscellaneous keys.
This case is being investigated.
Assault 17-008075
100 Block Casmar Street, SE
Between September 4 10:00 p.m. and September 5 12:34 p.m.
Officers responded to the report of a woman in the house yelling for police assistance. The
officers spoke with the woman who was at the house visiting with the resident. She advised that
she and the resident got into an argument that escalated and the man assaulted her. There were
no visible signs of injury and the woman did not wish to pursue charges.
