Brother And Sister Chefs To Open Taqueria In Vienna
Chefs Jessica and Alfredo Solis are set to open El Sol Thursday, Feb. 27 in Vienna.

VIENNA, VA — Sibling chefs Jessica and Alfredo Solis are bringing a new taqueria concept called El Sol Restaurante & Tequileria to Vienna. It will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Cedar Park Shopping Center, Cedar Lane SE, Suite C, Vienna.
This is the owners' fourth restaurant and the first in Virginia. The siblings were raised in Mexico before they moved to DC and began working their way up in the city's restaurants. After working in the restaurant industry for more than a decade, they opened the first El Sol location in DC in 2014. Their DC restaurants are El Sol Restaurant & Tequileria, El Mezcalero Cocina Mexicana and Anafre.
"We just set out to cook the food we grew up eating and now we have four restaurants. It’s incredible," said Jessica Solis.

The new restaurant has a menu similar to El Sol DC and incorporates items from their new seafood-focused restaurant Anafre. At the Vienna location, diners can expect traditional Mexican food like street tacos, carne asada and Jessica's spicy salsas. Among the highlights is Anafre’s queso fundido en hoja de platano, a mixture of cheeses prepared in a large plant leaf on the grill. The restaurant makes many items in-house and sources products like weekly shipments of mole from the Solis' madre in Mexico. The drink menu is centered around mezcal and tequila.
El Sol is an anchor tenant for the Cedar Park Shopping Center, which has been working on a new look. The space is 3,900 square feet and can accommodate 80 guests. The new restaurant features a private dining for up to 20 guests.
