Car Stolen In Recent String Of Vienna Break-Ins: Police

Police say an unknown person stole one unlocked car and broke into another.

VIENNA, VA—A new round of car break-ins resulted in a car being stolen in Vienna this week, according to police.

A resident in the 500 block of Gibson Drive SW reported the stolen vehicle, which likely happened between 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 and 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Police say the car was left unlocked with the key inside when it was stolen. The unknown suspect went through a second unlocked vehicle, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Between October 30 at 8:00 p.m. and October 31 at 8:30 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a cup containing coins.

Between October 30 at 8:00 p.m. and October 31 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a camera.

Vehicle Tampering 18-009023

200 Block Oak Street, SW
Between October 31 at 7:00 p.m. and November 1 at 10:22 p.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and stole currency and coins.

Police issued a reminder for residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables.

Between October 22 at 12:00 p.m. and November 1 at 5:10 p.m.
A resident reported that someone broke into their shed and stole a weed trimmer, leaf blower, and a chainsaw.

Noise Violation 18-008847
The Bey Lounge
303 Mill Street, NE
October 27 12:25 a.m.
A resident reported loud music coming from The Bey Lounge. An officer responded to the area but did not hear any music or observe any violations. The officer advised the manager of the complaint. Although there was no violation, the manager agreed to turn the music down further.

Grand Larceny 18-009027

Giant Food
359 Maple Avenue, East
October 30 6:00 p.m.
A vendor reported his iPad was stolen while he was working outside of the Giant Food store.

Crash: Westwood Drive and Old Courthouse Road, NE 18-009021

November 1 9:27 a.m.
Vehicle-2 was traveling northbound on Old Courthouse Road. Vehicle-1 was eastbound on Westwood Drive at the intersection of Old Courthouse Road. Vehicle-1 proceeded through the intersection and was struck by Vehicle-2. A passenger in Vehicle-1 suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by rescue personnel. Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
