The Casual Pint Holds Grand Opening Near Dunn Loring Metro

DUNN LORING, VA — Residents and commuters at the Dunn Loring Metro station have a new option to grab a beer and bites nearby.

The Casual Pint of Dunn Loring celebrated its grand opening Thursday at 2676 Avenir Place – Unit F, Fairfax, VA. The Casual Pint brands itself as a "beerstro," offering a selection of craft beers and pub food.

This is the second Northern Virginia location, with another open in the Falls Church area. The business was opened by McLean friends Jennifer Longmeyer-Wood and Derek Adams, who share a passion for craft beer.

The grand opening is happening throughout the day on Thursday, which kicked off with a fire toast at noon. Providence District Supervisor Dalia Palchik and Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust were on hand for the grand opening. Thursday's hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

At the Casual Pint, guests can find beers from a 22-tap draft beer system, single beer cans and bottles for dine-in or takeout, and to-go crowlers and growlers. The craft beer selection includes IPAs, Pilsner and a dark brew or two on tap, as well as seasonal offerings, according to Adams. For guests preferring alternatives to beer can find wines, ciders, non-alcoholic beers and soft drinks.

On the food menu, guests can feast on pub classics like the 12-inch handmade German pretzels with beer cheese from woman-owned Prop and Peller, brats, burgers, flatbread pizzas, wings, salads and wraps. The business will later add seasonal items and regional specialties with ingredients from local butchers, farms and small businesses.

While the Casual Pint brands itself as a neighborhood gathering space to have drinks and food, guests can take items to go, including growlers, mix-a-six packs, packaged beer, and kegs with advance order.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
