Chillin’ On Church Wraps Up In 2022 With September Event

VIENNA, VA — There’s one last chance in 2022 to enjoy the food, drinks and live entertainment of Chillin’ on Church. The final event of the year is scheduled for Friday along historic Church Street near the Town Green.

The monthly block party is held every third Friday from June to September. At the September event, attendees can enjoy food, beer and wine, music and family activities from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is free.

Each event features a lineup of food trucks, but attendees are also encouraged to bring takeout from Vienna restaurants. Food trucks planned for Friday include The Inside Scoop (ice cream), Capitol Snow and Dough (shaved ice and cinnamon cider donuts), Himalayan Soul Food (momos), The Big Cheese (gourmet grilled cheese), Two Smooth Dudes (tater tots and smoothies), NC Ribs on Wheels (BBQ), Lady K's Cafe (soul food) and The Roaming Coyote (tacos).

Beer and wine are also available for purchase, but attendees must first visit an ID tent with a valid ID and purchase tickets at the ticket tent. Tickets are $6 each and can buy one beer or wine. Attendees are not permitted to bring their own beer and wine from home to the event.

Each Chillin' on Church event features a different performer. This month's performer is Texas Chainsaw Horns, a horn-focused group performing blues, funk and soul.

Sections of Church and Mill Streets are closed for the event. Accessible parking is available at the Town Green and W&OD Trail parking area. Attendees can find other public parking options on the town website.
