Come campout at Wolf Trap in October
Upcoming campout for first-time fifth and sixth grade campers at Wolf Trap on October 9-10. Campers led by senior Boy and Girls Scouts.

First-time fifth and sixth grade campers are invited to Wolf Trap on October 9-10, 2015, for a campout sponsored by Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Campers will learn to be comfortable with the outdoors, have fun, make new friends, and build confidence, all while not venturing too far from home. Under the leadership of senior Boy and Girl Scouts, campers set up and sleep in tents, cook food in Dutch ovens, take nature hikes, make campfire s’mores, and enjoy a variety of fun and educational events with special guests.
The campout begins at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center at 10 a.m. on October 9th, coinciding with the Fairfax County School holiday. Campout hosted by the Boy Scouts, Venture Crews, Girl Scouts, scout parents, Friends of Wolf Trap, Wolf Trap staff, and Potomac Appalachian Trail Club volunteers.
This is the third first-time campout held at Wolf Trap. Previous campouts in April 2015, and September 2014, included a backstage tour of Wolf Trap, robot demonstrations, skits and animal charades, nature hikes with PATC volunteers, and learning about birding with the Audubon Society.
Attendance is capped at 48 campers, so register your camper today at http://fowt.info/campers/. Registration fee is $30. Camperships are available to cover the fee for hardship circumstances. If your camper is unable to make the October event, look for a spring campout announcement in February 2016. Spread the word!
