Contest: $250 Bike Winner And Favorite Things About Viva! Vienna!

One person will go home with a new bike from Spokes, Etc. from our Patch contest, but we hope everyone started their summers off on a good note at Viva! Vienna! during Memorial Weekend.

That's why we asked readers to tell us about why they love Viva! Vienna for a chance to win a bike valued at $250 or store credit at Spokes, Etc. of Vienna. Congrats to the winner, Beth Benoudiz!

Many of the respondents had wonderful things to say about the annual Viva! Vienna! festival, held by the Rotary Club of Vienna. We tallied over 90 responses and grouped them into categories.

It's no surprise that food came first, with residents praising favorites like funnel cake, deep-fried Oreos and sausages. The carnival rides came second, closely followed by the vendors.

One respondent summed up the event well: "My kids love the rides and games and the funnel cakes. We love walking up and down and meeting all the vendors and sponsors. And of course the magic show for my 4 year old and my teens love watching the singing and the dancing. We use to live closer but now we live in Maryland and will make the hour trip every year."

Another resident describes the sense of community created by the local vendor tents. "It's fun to learn about the local Vienna businesses that support the Town of Vienna and the services that they offer."
