DC, NoVA Weekend Events: Magfest, A Special Anniversary
Looking for things to do during the government shutdown? A video game festival to the last days of holiday lights are just a few events.

Despite the continuing government shutdown, there are numerous things to do this weekend around Northern Virginia and DC. You can attend a concert, see holiday lights or visit museums that are open. Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo are not open when the shutdown is in effect.
We've rounded up numerous events going on in DC and Northern Virginia from Friday, Jan. 4 to Sunday, Jan. 6.
Some of the larger events you'll find include: Justin Timberlake, Magfest, the last weekend of Georgetown GLOW DC and Meadowlark Winter Walk of Lights, DC Proud 2019 Celebration and A Special Anniversary at Mount Vernon.
