DC, NoVA Weekend Events: Restaurant Weeks, MLK Day Of Service
Amid the government shutdown, there's still plenty to do, from a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade to restaurant weeks.

Even as Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo remain closed during the shutdown, the long Martin Luther King Jr. weekend offers many things to do around Northern Virginia and DC.
Martin Luther King Day is a federal holiday and national day of service, so there are plenty of volunteer opportunities. Visitors can also attend sports games, concerts, restaurant weeks and more.
We've rounded up numerous events going on in DC and Northern Virginia from Friday, Jan. 18 to Monday, Jan. 21. Some of the larger events you'll find include: Metropolitan Washington Winter Restaurant Week, Alexandria Winter Restaurant Week, Women's March, Panic! At The Disco, MLK Holiday Parade and MLK Day of Service events.
