Driver Robbed at Gunpoint Outside 7-Eleven

Fairfax County Police are investigating a robbery that took place outside of a 7-Eleven store early Tuesday morning.
The robbery took place in the 2900 block of Cedar Lane Tuesday at about 1:25 a.m., according to police.
A 26-year-old man, operating a tow truck, parked in front of a 7-Eleven store and went inside, police said. He returned to his truck and shortly thereafter, was approached by a man who displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to police. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and was not injured. The suspect fled on foot.

Police officers with K9 responded and tracked the suspect’s path east, toward the 8600 block of Lee Highway. The suspect was described as being black, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, police said. He was wearing all black clothing and a black mask covering his face.
