Drunk Driver Passes Out Behind Wheel, Blocks Post Office Parking Lot: Police
Vienna police arrested a man found unresponsive in his car in a post office parking lot.
VIENNA, VA – A man whose car blocked the entrance to a Vienna post office parking lot for 15 minutes was arrested for driving while intoxicated, Vienna police report.
According to the Vienna Police Department, an officer responded to the U.S. Post Office at 200 Lawyers Rd. NW on Sept. 5 just before 8 p.m. after reports of an unresponsive driver. The officer found a man in a car in the parking lot with the engine still running. The man was checked by emergency responders for any medical issues – none were reported by police. However, the officer reported seeing empty alcohol containers in the car and signs of heavy intoxication in the driver.
Ultimately, the driver, a 38-year-old Springfield man, was arrested for drunken driving and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
