Eating While Washing Dishes: Vienna Restaurant Violations

VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County regularly conducts health inspections for local restaurants. The frequency of inspections on the type of food served and how it is prepared.

“In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations,” states the Virginia Department of Health’s website.

Here are some of the violations from recent inspections in early August around Vienna and Tysons. Among the violations were employees eating and drinking while either preparing food or washing dishes at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse. These violations were corrected during the inspection.

Also included are restaurants with no violations. Reports are typically posted five to seven days after the inspections. Full reports are available on the health department’s website. Click on the violations to see each restaurant's results.

violations: marinara sauce hot holding at improper temperature, ham, roasted chicken cold holding at improper temperatures, dust and debris on shelves in dry storage, toxic cleaning materials not labeled

Warren Cafe: 8000 Westpark Dr, Mclean, VA 22102, last inspection: Aug. 7

violations: open drinking container stored near food prep area, employees without hair restraints, unlabeled salt, sugar, foods not dated or discarded within 24 hours, black mold inside ice bin
