Energetic NoVa Rescue Dog Looking For Forever Home

This energetic pup lives in a local foster home and is looking for an owner that loves to play ball.

VIENNA, VA—If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, consider a local rescue group like Operation Paws for Homes. The group rescues dogs from overcrowded, high-kill shelters in the south, mainly Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina and finds new homes for them.

One of these adoptable pets is TickTock, who is just about as energetic as you can imagine from the name. This two-year-old is a poodle, Shih Tzu and likely a terrier mix. Right now he is living in a foster home in Vienna. Here's a description of the handsome pup, courtesy of Operation Paws for Homes:

Hello, my name is TickTock! I am a high energy, very smart, 2 year old boy who weighs about 20lbs. My mom's DNA test says she is a Poodle and Shih Tzu mix. They think my dad may have been a terrier. My foster mom thinks that I get my good looks from my mom and my big personality and drive from my dad.
I am the typical terrier who loves to play ball! so I would love my own yard. I am food-motivated and I get along well with other dogs in my foster home. I am crate-trained and we are practicing good leash manners! I do best with a martingale and a regular leash. I know "Sit" and "Come"!
I would prefer a home with a yard so that I can get plenty of exercise- I love to play!
* Needs an experienced owner who will continue to provide guidance and boundaries otherwise I start to think that I am "the boss"
* Potty trained
* Crate trained
* Continues to work on leash walking
* Uses a martingale collar, to prevent pulling
* He gets excited and may jump on people
* He does know basic house manners
* He can be a barker at times
* Good recall
* Preferably no toddlers, or young children
* No apartments, please, TickTock is just too busy and needs a fenced yard
