Fairfax County Police Report Attempted Robbery in Dunn Loring Area

Fairfax County Police report there was an attempted robbery Friday in the Dunn Loring area.

The incident took place at the corner of Cottage Street and Bucknell Drive Friday around 3:45 p.m., according to the police.

The victim was walking and was approached by a man from behind, police said. The suspect attempted to take the victim’s purse but the victim resisted, according to police. The suspect fled in a vehicle.

Officers located the suspect and arrested him. Wilian A. Cruz Garcia, 20, of Falls Church was charged with attempted robbery. The victim did not require medical attention.
