Fairfax County Police Respond to More Than 200 Crashes Tuesday Due to Slick Roads

Roads are still treacherous in Fairfax County after a snowfall that over-delivered, surprising the area Tuesday morning.

Fairfax County just released this partial list of road closures across Fairfax County:

• Sacramento/Claymont (1 lane)
• Popkins/Devonshire
• Quisenberry/Kings Hill
• Old Chesterbrook/Kirby Rd.
• Patrick Henry/Squires Hill Dr.
• Bellview Rd/Towlston Rd.
• Bellview Rd./Old Dominion
• Old Chesterbrook/Kirby
• Hunter Mill Rd/Sunrise Valley Dr.
• Kincheloe Rd/Yates Ford Rd.
• Maple Branch
• Clifton Road
• Bay Valley/Compton
• Popes Head/Marlstone

Preliminary figures indicate that officers responded to approximately 234 crashes between 5:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. this morning. The accident policy is still in effect, presently. That means if you are in a crash with no injuries, exchange insurance information with other drivers and don’t expect police to show up as they are dealing with crashes that involve injuries.
