FBI Offers $5K Reward In Vienna Bank Robbery

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for identifying a Wells Fargo Bank robber. Plus more in the weekly Vienna crime report.

VIENNA, VA -- The Federal Bureau of Investigations is offering up to $5,000 for information on a Tuesday, June 6 Wells Fargo Bank robbery in Vienna.

Police say around 4:10 p.m., the unknown suspect robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 212 Maple Avenue East. The suspect demanded money and left after the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The subject was described as a black male with a medium build in his late 40s, about 5 foot 9 to 6 foot tall and with short facial hair. He was wearing a black "NY" baseball cap, black-rimmed glasses, a
multi-toned blue jacket and dark pants.

May 30 6:16 p.m.

A citizen advised she was in the library when a man followed her from the front desk to her
computer. He then sat behind her and began simulating a lewd act. The citizen immediately
notified the library staff who contacted the police. Officers searched the area for the man but
were unable to locate him.

Arrest – Assault 17-004962

820 Follin Lane, SE
June 2 6:33 p.m.

A construction worker, was allegedly assaulted by another construction worker at their job site.
One man was transported to an area hospital for treatment for minor injuries to his face. The
man who struck him was placed under arrest.
Ofc. Post transported the 35-year-old man from W Lanham Drive in Hyattsville, Maryland to the
Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Simple Assault.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated 17-005053

Maple Avenue and Park Street, SE
June 4 10:26 p.m.

Two drivers were involved in an accident. When Ofc. Post arrived
on scene she observed both vehicles were still blocking Maple Avenue. She advised the drivers
to move their vehicles to the gas station parking lot. One of the drivers had difficulty following
the officer’s direction. Upon Ofc. Post’s interaction with the driver she detected signs of possible impairment. After the driver failed a series of field sobriety tests she was placed under arrest.

Ofc. Post transported the 22-year-old woman from Toyon Way in Vienna to the Vienna Police
Station where she was provided the opportunity to provide a sample of her breath for analysis.
She was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where she was charged
with Driving While Intoxicated and held on a $4,000 unsecured bond.

Assault 17-005160
Kingsley Road SW/Cottage St SW
June 7 5:34 p.m.

A town resident was the front passenger of a vehicle driven by her friend. The driver accidentally
cut off another driver. The other driver proceeded to followed them closely. At another
intersection the driver got out of her vehicle and assaulted the front passenger. The resident could
not recall the tag number of the suspect’s vehicle.

440 Maple Ave, West
June 8 7:43 p.m.

A female citizen reported she had a verbal altercation with a male. Later the altercation turned
physical. The female assaulted the male subject and later the male subject assaulted her. The
female didn’t want to provide any identifying information about the male subject to police. The
male subject was later located in the area and was identified by other officers. Both parties were
advised on the process to obtain arrest warrants.
