Fire Officials: Abandoned Dunn Loring House a Total Loss

Fairfax County firefighters responded last Wednesday at approximately 11:30 p.m. to a house on fire in the Dunn Loring area of Fairfax County. The single-family house is located at 2400 Sandburg St.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found that the two-story home was engulfed in flames, according to fire officials. Firefighters conducted an aggressive exterior fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes, the county said.

The unoccupied home had its windows boarded up and was abandoned. A police helicopter spotted the fire and called 911. One firefighter received a non-life threatening injury.

Damage estimate is to be determined. The fire is under investigation
