Six Oakton Residents Displaced From Fire
Residents were able to safely escape the fire, but their Oakton home is uninhabitable.

OAKTON, VA—Six Oakton residents are displaced after a Tuesday morning fire at their home.
The home in the 3300 block of Jermantown Road had smoke showing from the front when crews arrived around 9:14 a.m.. All residents safely escaped after the fire alarm went off, and firefighters quickly located and put out in the basement.
No residents were injured, but two firefighters and one police officers had minor injuries. They went to the hospital for checkups.

Investigators say the fire originated in the basement due to an electrical event in a closet outlet. Initial damage estimates are $18,750. The family has accepted Red Cross assistance.
