Free Fireworks, Concert To Kick Off Summer 2019 At Wolf Trap

The summer Blast Off includes fireworks and a performance by the country's oldest active band.

VIENNA, VA—In between ViVa! Vienna! festivities on Memorial Day weekend, you can enjoy another holiday tradition just miles away. Wolf Trap will hold its annual summer Blast Off, complete with fireworks and a concert on Sunday, May 26 at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

"The President's Own" United States Marine Band returns for a performance of concert band favorites. Founded in 1798 to perform for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps, it's considered the country's oldest active band. The band has performed at the annual Wolf Trap concert for 48 years.

Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Guests must enter the main gate to the Filene Center. The fireworks viewing area will open at 9:30 p.m. after the concert. The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.

The park will close when it reaches capacity. Pedestrian foot traffic through the trails behind the park will be fenced off for this event.
