Fresh Market Opens Today

Two new businesses opened their doors in Vienna this week and plan to hold grand opening celebrations on Saturday.

Fresh Market, a Greensboro, N.C.-based supermarket chain, will open its doors Wednesday at 150 Branch Rd SE

Grand opening festivities will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a “Cracking of the Parmesan,” the store's take on the traditional ribbon cutting.

Throughout the day, the store will give away complimentary outdoor grilling, a free reusable shopping bag and a sample bag of coffee to
the first 1,000 customers. It will also host food samples and chef demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Residents who attend the grand opening can also enter a "Fresh Market Pantry" giveaway, which includes $1,000 worth of spices, pastas, mixes, sauces, jams and stocks, among other foods.

Samples and demonstrations will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day through Saturday, when the grand opening celebrations conclude, the store said.

Robeks, a premium, whole fruit smoothie retailer based out of Los Angeles, at 136 Maple Ave W, in the Vienna Shopping Center.

The grand opening for the store will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. The first 10 customers will receive free smoothies for a year and the first 100 customers will receive a free T-shirt, said Jan Hemming, a spokeswoman for the store.

Everyone visiting the store during the grand opening hours will receive free smoothies, Hemming said.
