House Fire On Vienna-Tysons Border Displaces 6
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue say a firefighter was injured in the fire near the Town of Vienna border.

VIENNA, VA — Fairfax County Fire and Rescue say six people were displaced and one firefighter was injured in a house fire in Tysons near the Vienna border Thursday afternoon. All residents from the home were accounted for.
Units responded to the 8700 block of Westwood Forest Lane to find a large fire showing from the side and rear of the home. A neighbor had spotted smoke and called 911, leading one resident to discover the fire in the basement.
Residents evacuated before firefighters arrived. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor burn, and two juveniles went for checkups. Photos posted by the fire department show visible damage on the home's exterior.

Damages were estimated to be $1,059,612. The residents have declined Red Cross assistance.
Fire investigators determined the fire started in the basement. The cause remains under investigation.

The Town of Vienna said Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road/Maple Avenue) was closed between Niblick Drive and St. Andrews Drive. The road has reopened.
