I-66 Public Hearings This Week
Vienna meeting is Thursday in Oakton High School cafeteria.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), in partnership with the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), will hold Public Hearings on the Tier 2 Draft Environmental Assessment for the I-66 Outside the Beltway Project.
The public is invited to review and comment on:
- The Tier 2 Environmental Assessment, which evaluates potential effects the proposed improvements would have on air quality, noise, neighborhoods, parks, recreation areas, historic properties, threatened and endangered species habitats, wetlands and streams.
- Technical Reports including traffic and transit reports, and a preliminary noise analysis.
- Updated design concepts, which reflect revisions where possible on roadway elements and stormwater management ponds to reduce impacts and preserve nearby homes.
WHEN and WHERE: Four meeting opportunities will be provided. Meeting times are from 5:30 – 9 p.m., with a brief presentation at 7 p.m., followed by a comment period.

About the I-66 Outside the Beltway Public Hearings
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Project involves transforming 25 miles of I-66 into a multimodal corridor that moves traffic and people more efficiently. Public comments received at the upcoming Environmental Assessment Public Hearings will be considered in making the final decision on a preferred design alternative for the project, and will be addressed in a revised Environmental Assessment, which is anticipated to be released at the end of 2015.
To be included in this process, comments must be received by VDOT by June 18, 2015. The public can provide comments at the public hearings, and by email at Transform66@VDOT.Virginia.gov, online at Transform66.org, or by mail toVDOT’s Northern Virginia District Office at 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030
