I-66 Two-Vehicle Crash Causes Major Delays

A crash on eastbound I-66 is causing delays Wednesday morning due to debris cleanup, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Major delays are happening on Interstate 66 Wednesday morning due to a two-vehicle crash, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

The crash happened on eastbound I-66 before the Nutley Street exit. There were no reported injuries, but a large amount of debris was reported on the roadway.

As of 9:42 a.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation's 511 reported two eastbound lanes were closed with delays extending five miles.

State police are diverting traffic off I-66 to assist with the road cleanup. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue expects major delays to continue.
