Inaugural Tysons Chamber Volunteer Tysons Day - October 26

Uniting the business and nonprofit community in honor or a national day of service.

Many thanks to the Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce for their Inaugural Tysons Chamber Volunteer Tysons Day, sponsored by the Chamber’s Community Impact Council. Assistance League of Northern Virginia and several other non-profit organizations were matched with businesses from the Tysons community to work together on a project in honor of a national day of service on October 26th.

Employees from Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant, located at Tysons Corner, and representatives from PHILLIPS School partnered with members of Assistance League to participate in a mini-food packing event at the restaurant. Together, the team of volunteers packed 120 bags of nonperishable food in support of our Operation School Bell program, Weekend Food for Kids. This critical program provides food for the weekend to children who receive free or reduced-rate meals during the school year. Following the event, Assistance League delivered the bags of food to Pine Spring Elementary School in Falls Church, one of six Title I schools served by the program.

We would like to thank the Chamber for organizing this first ever event which united the business and nonprofit community, and to those who helped us pack!
