Intruder Gives Teen A Fright In Vienna: Police

Police made an arrest for a break-in among responses to other incidents in the last week.

Vienna Police responded to a variety of incidents within the last week, including an intruder walking into a teen's residence on Dec. 30.

The teen was home alone in an apartment in the 200 block of Cedar Lane SE when the break-in happened. Around 2:45 p.m., the man walked through the front door, prompting the teen to run out and seek help.

Officers located the man in a bedroom. EMS was requested, as the man appeared to be highly intoxicated. He refused medical treatment and was arrested.

The 32-year-old Vienna man, who wasn't identified, was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with unlawful entry and drunk in public.

Crash - Marshall Road and Ware Street, SW 18-01523
December 24 2:30 a.m.
Vehicle-1 was traveling eastbound on Marshall Road. The vehicle slid off the road, struck a pedestrian crossing sign, a fence and a shed. The driver was issued a summons charging Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.

December 26 12:00 p.m.
A resident reported a lawnmower and patio chairs were stolen from their shed.

December 27 between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
An employee reported her wallet was stolen from the store. She noticed the wallet was missing after her bank notified her of suspicious activity on her credit card.

Arrest – Noise Violation 18-010670
The Bey Lounge
303 Mill Street, NE
December 29 1:20 a.m.
A resident made a complaint of loud music in the area. PFC Williams responded and observed the music was coming from The Bey Lounge.
PFC Williams issued a summons to an employee, a 33-year-old man from Dry River Court in Reston, Virginia for Maintaining Excessive Noise.

December 29 12:00 p.m.
A citizen reported her cell phone was stolen while she was at Caffee Amouri.

Arrest – Drunk In Public 18-010696

118 Branch Road, SE
December 30 12:24 a.m.
An employee reported a man who was acting disorderly in the restaurant. The man was stealing drinks from other customers and refusing to leave.
MPO Smith located the intoxicated man and placed him under arrest. The 46-year-old man with no fixed address was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Drunk In Public. He was also trespassed from the restaurant by the employee.

600 Block Upham Place, NW
December 31 10:26 p.m.
Fairfax County EMS personnel advised officers of a medical call they responded to where they transported an injured juvenile to an area hospital with non-life-threatening burns.
This case is under investigation.

Crash - 600 Block McKinley Street, NE 19-000035
January 2 12:00 p.m.
Vehicle-1 was parked in the 600 Block of McKinley Street, NE. The vehicle was left in reverse without the parking brake set. The unattended vehicle rolled down the hill, off the road, struck a mailbox at one residence then struck bushes and made impact with another residence.
