May Brings Mental Health Awareness and Relief for Those Struggling
America is experiencing a mental health crisis and substance use epidemic. This May Social4Good (S4G) joins a national movement to fight the stigma, provide support to the suffering, and advocate for policies to help millions affected by mental illness.

S4G's Mental Health Partners Address Critical Needs

The Wellness Circle Crisis Stabilization Unit (WCCSU) offers short-term services for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders. Their 16-bed facility provides alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization for NoVA residents and supports the development of a recovery plan.

The Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation (NVMHF) is a funder of last resort for individuals with serious mental illness. NVMHF provides grants to people in treatment for items or services that they cannot access using public funds, such as rent, transportation, dental expenses, and educational program costs.

You Can Help Bring Relief to Those Suffering from Mental Illness

S4G's goal is to raise $5000 in financial and in-kind donations. Together we will show compassion for and provide comfort to those in our community who are struggling to overcome co-occurring disorders of substance use and mental illness.

• Amazon Wish List: Many of the Wellness Circle clients do not live in their own homes and will not return to a home once released from treatment. Our contributions will allow them to communicate with friends and family while in residence and offer some comfort through personal hygiene, fresh clothing and small gift card denominations for dining. S4G has created an Amazon Wish List to provide toiletries and clothing for Wellness Circle clients to be given upon arrival and/or discharge from treatment. Please ship your purchases to S4G member Phyllis Lee’s registry address by May 17th so we can stock the shelves to support clients in need.

• Financial donations through S4G's Grapevine page will allow NVMHF to provide grants to help individuals currently in treatment for serious mental illness.
