Madison Crew Scores Best In Show At 2023 Vienna Halloween Parade

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Town Council celebrated the winners of the 2023 Vienna Halloween Parade on Monday night.

The parade award winners were announced for the first time at the meeting. James Madison High School's crew team won Best of Show, the top award.

"We had 108 parade entries this year. It's the largest Vienna Halloween Parade we've had in over a decade, and I've heard from so many people that this was one of the best parades we've ever had," said Lily Widman, special events coordinator for the town.

An estimated 30,000 spectators watched the parade along Maple Avenue, and hundreds of others tuned in through the town's YouTube channel. The parade theme was "Cartoons and Comics," and the grand marshal was Coach Mark "Pudge" Gjormand, the Madison High School varsity baseball coach. The Vienna Halloween Parade is held annually by the Town of Vienna in partnership with the Vienna Business Association.
