Man Caught Breaking Into Vehicles In Vienna: Police
Police caught one person when a resident reported a group breaking into vehicles.
VIENNA, VA—A watchful resident helped Vienna catch at least one person breaking into vehicles on Thursday, April 18.
Around 12:51 a.m., a resident reported a vehicle break-in happening at that moment in the 1000 block of Moorefield Hill Place SW. A group of men were reportedly breaking into neighbors' vehicles and fled when police arrived. Officers caught up to one man and found he had items taken from vehicles.
The 20-year-old man was charged with petit larceny and two counts of entering vehicles. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on a $3000 secured bond.

Suspicious Event 19-003884

Between April 8 at 7:00 a.m. and April 12 at 6:07 p.m.
A resident reported that there have been a couple of occasions when someone has left bags of dog excrement and trash in her yard.
Recovery of Stolen Vehicle 19-003933
800 Block Hunter Court, SW
April 13 3:44 p.m.
A resident reported an abandoned vehicle parked on the road. A check of the registration showed the vehicle was reported as stolen from Fairfax County. Fairfax County Police were notified of the vehicle’s recovery.
Crash - 100 Block Glyndon Street, SE 19-003921
April 13 11:30 a.m.
Vehicle-2 was traveling southbound on Glyndon Street. Vehicle-1 was traveling northbound on Glyndon Street. Another vehicle was legally parked in the northbound lane with the driver side door open. Driver-1 attempted to pass the parked vehicle by crossing the double yellow line and proceeding northbound in the southbound lane, striking Vehicle-2 head-on. Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Passing on a Solid Line.
Vehicle Tampering 19-003949
400 Block John Marshall Drive, NE
Between April 13 at 8:00 p.m. and April 14 at 12:00 p.m.
Three vehicles were left legally parked and unlocked at a residence when someone entered the vehicles and rummaged through them. Loose change and cigarettes were taken from one of the vehicles. Nothing appeared to be taken from the other two vehicles.
Stolen Vehicle 19-003945
900 Block Moorefield Creek Road, SW
Between April 13 at 11:00 p.m. and April 14 at 9:53 a.m.
A resident reported her vehicle was taken from the driveway of her friend’s house. The keys were left in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered on April 15 in Cheverly, Maryland.

Between April 13 at 9:00 p.m. and April 14 at 1:29 p.m.
A resident reported that someone entered their locked vehicle and took a tray containing loose change.
