Man Dies After Car Strikes Him In Vienna: Police
Police do not expect charges for the drivers involved.

VIENNA, VA—The man struck by a vehicle Monday, Nov. 12 in Vienna has died, according to Fairfax County Police.
The crash happened after 5 p.m. at Old Courthouse Road and Westwood Drive on the border with the Town of Vienna. Investigations determined the victim was assisting his wife, who was involved in a separate property damage crash.
The man was struck while carrying items across the road to his car. Police say a Chevrolet heading west on Old Courthouse Road hit the man, causing him to hit the side of a Toyota traveling east. Following the crash, he had been taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

The victim was identified as Daniel Benson, 77, of Vienna.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with detectives. Police do not expect charges and say alcohol and speed are likely not factors in the crash.
