Man Found Hanging In Cell At Fairfax County Jail
Police are investigating the death of a man found hanged in his cell at the Fairfax County jail.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A man was found dead in his cell at Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Sunday, the Sheriff's Office said.
The 33-year-old man was taken to the jail on June 27 after being charged with malicious wounding. Around 7 p.m. Sunday, a Sheriff's deputy found the man hanging in his cell. Deputies and medical staff performed CPR until medical personnel arrived, but he was pronounced dead at 7:24 p.m.
Fairfax County detectives are investigating the death. The identify of the man has not yet been released. Follow Patch for more updates.
