Holiday 2014: Meadowlark's Winter Walk of Lights

The holidays are here and you can get in the spirit of things by visiting Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights.

The gardens come to “light” at night at Meadowlark’s Winter Walk of Lights through Sunday, Jan. 4. Tickets range from $5 to $13; find detailed ticket information here. Also check here for visiting and parking tips.

More than 500,000 lights illuminate the trees and displays of flowers, animals, fountains, a stream, and much more.

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is located at 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna 22182.

Special events held during the Winter Walk of Lights include:

Friday, December 5, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Nature Night Visit with a naturalist and his amphibian friends and enjoy free nature crafts in the children’s area.

Friday, December 5, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Food Truck Friday
Holiday funnel cakes, chicken tenders, hot dogs, chili (meat and vegetarian), crispy fries and soft pretzels! Enjoy these treats along with a hot or cold beverage—YUM!

Tuesday, December 9, at 7:15 p.m. – A Special Holiday Performance by the Vienna Choral Society
In our beautiful Atrium, the 75-member Vienna Choral Society will raise voices and raise spirits in its free performance for visitors of the Winter Walk of Lights. Weather permitting, choral members will carol through the light show after their performance. It’s a musical event not to be missed!

Wednesday, December 10, 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Free Face Painting for Children
Snowflakes, snowmen, and other holiday images! Children can enjoy festive, free face painting at the Winter Walk of Lights.

Thursday, December 18, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Nature Night
Visit with a naturalist and his amphibian friends and enjoy free nature crafts in the children’s area.

Friday, December 19, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – Food Truck Friday
