VIENNA, VA — Most holiday festivities don't start until after Thanksgiving, but there's one way to get in the spirit in early November. The popular Winter Walk of Lights attraction at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens opens for the season on Friday, Nov. 8. It is open nightly through Jan. 5, 2020, including on holidays.

Every year, the botanical gardens are transformed into a half-mile, festive walk of lights. Visitors can look for returning favorites like Lakeside Lights, the Fountain of Lights and the Holiday Nature Wall and see new displays. Aside from viewing the light displays, visitors can browse the Snowflake Shoppe & Garden Gift Shop and stop by the S'More Snacks Shop to roast marshmallows by the fire.

The holiday lights attraction is quite popular among locals, drawing an estimated 75,000 to 80,000 visitors per year.
