Mega Millions Lottery Soars to $160 Million; Next Drawing Tuesday

The national Mega Millions lottery has soared to $160 million; that may seem like a lot, but in December, the lottery hit $636 million; the Virginia Lottery pocketed $16 million from lottery tickets sales for the second-largest lottery prize, according to a report by WAVY-TV in Hampton Roads.

The Virginia Lottery earned $536 million this past fiscal year, a 2 percent increase over the record two years ago, the TV station reported.
