Mental Illness Research at a Crossroad

A Science, Reason & Religion Discussion in Oakton on Sunday, January 17

Why haven’t we translated breath-taking advances in brain and genetic science into better lives for people with serious mental illness, despite enormous effort?

Dwight Dickenson, JD, PhD, the Director of the Neuropsychology Lab, Clinical and Translational Neuroscience Branch, National Institute of Mental Health (NIH), will present reasons for this differential success in translating advances in basic science into meaningful treatments. In particular, he will focus on research now underway targeting other maladies, such as mental illness, in his presentation, Mental Illness Research at a Crossroad.

Join us this Sunday, January 17th at 12:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Rd. in Oakton, VA. The event will be held in the UUCF Sanctuary Building.
