Neighbor Smashes Front Window Of Vienna Home: Police

The homeowner called police when the man began damaging his home.

A man is facing charges in Vienna after after smashing the front window of a neighbor's property Wednesday.

A resident in the 400 Block of Yeonas Drive SW called police around 6:23 p.m. when the neighbor and damaged the front window and siding. Police confirmed the allegations with the accused neighbor.

The man, a 54-year-old Vienna resident, was arrested and charged with destruction of property and trespassing. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police did not indicate a motive for the incident.

Between March 15 9:00 p.m. and March 16 9:15 p.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person attempted to set up a time to come into his home and
take pictures for an insurance quote. The resident called his insurance company and they advised
they had not contacted him to set up a visit.

Between March 16 6:30 p.m. and March 17 11:03 a.m.
A citizen reported a vandalism that took place at a construction site.

300 Block of Old Courthouse Road NE
Between March 18 10:30 p.m. and March 19 7:00 a.m.
A resident reported that someone entered his unsecured vehicle and stole some items.

Juvenile 18-0002372
100 Block of Park Street SE
March 19 3:59 p.m.

A juvenile ran away from a doctor’s office and went missing. Officers immediately searched the
area with negative results. A helicopter was requested to assist with the search of the child. Shortly
after the arrival of the helicopter, MPO Mangan located the juvenile unharmed. The parent and
juvenile were later reunited.

100 Block of Patrick Street SE
March 21 11:40 p.m.

A resident reported that he was followed home by a drunk man that had assaulted him a couple of
weeks ago. Officers responded to the area and interviewed the man.
A 19-year-old man from Vienna, VA was arrested and transported the Fairfax County Adult
Detention Center. A warrant for Drunk in Public, Simple Assault & Battery were issued and
served. The man was remanded to the custody of the Fairfax County Deputies.

Accident 18-0002405
Nutley Street SW / Tapawingo Road SW
March 21 5:04 a.m.

Vehicle #1 was traveling west on Tapawingo Road SW, approaching the intersection with Nutley
Street SW. Vehicle #2 was traveling east on Tapawingo Road SW, approaching the intersection
with Nutley Street SW. Both drivers had a green traffic signal at the intersection. Vehicle #2
made a right turn onto Nutley Street SW, into the right lane. Vehicle #1, at the same time as
Vehicle #2, made a left turn into the left lane on Nutley Street SW. Road conditions were wet,
and driver #1 advised that the tail of his vehicle slipped out in the turn. Vehicle #2 was struck in
the driver side door and front bumper by the rear right corner of Vehicle #1.
