New Italian Restaurant Now Open in Vienna

VIENNA, VA — Vienna residents have a new spot to try Italian cuisine, after the recent opening of Basillini Italian Cafe. The family-owned restaurant is located in the spot where Jerry’s Subs was previously located, at 235 Maple Ave. East, near Jammin’ Java.

The spot offers traditional Italian dishes such as Lasagna, Chicken Marsala and Fettucini Alfredo, as well as pizza, salads, subs and appetizers and non-Italian offerings. See the full menu here.

Although it’s brand new, it’s already getting attention on Yelp:

J.H. says:: “Very nice Italian Cafe in the old “Jerry’s” space in the same shopping center as Jammin’ Java. A definite upgrade with classic Italian entrees and subs as well as some original offerings and daily specials. The wife is pleased with the numerous vegetarian choices and salad offerings with house made salad dressings. Family casual atmosphere and very reasonable price points. Welcome to Vienna, we’ll see you ‘round for sure!”

Two other Yelp reviews were mixed.

On DonRockwell.com, ”ventworm” said: “ Finally tried this place tonight since I was just NOT in the mood to cook tonight. Decided to go with their lasagna because, well, it’s one of those staple dishes that should be the benchmark of any Italian place if you’re looking for savory and richness of flavor. Thankfully, it was decent, even after about a 10-15 minute drive home in an insulated bag. This place isn’t fine dining, but it’s decent food at a decent price made by good people. The decor is pretty spartan, but it’s fine for what it needs to be.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; the restaurant is closed on Sundays. The restaurant offers delivery (requires a minimum order of $12, before tax) in a limited area.
