New Restaurant and Bar, B Side, Opens Saturday at Mosaic District
Coming soon, B Side will offer a rotating menu of nightly specials such as Breakfast for Dinner, Taco Tuesdays, and Pot Roast.

From the team behind Red Apron & The Partisan, B side is a 50-seat neighborhood bar and restaurant opening in Merrifield Saturday at 4 p.m., according to a news release. Here’s more about the new eatery, from the release:
Joined at the hip to Red Apron, B Side packs the 13-seat bar with the talents of beverage experts Greg Engert, Jeff Fail and Brent Kroll. The three have contributed to an impressive selection that includes 12 drafts beers alongside a cache of 200 bottles and cans, an over 120 bottles wine list with 20 wines by the glass, and 10 craft cocktails.
Linked conceptually as well as physically to the whole animal butchery, B Side shares a commitment to sourcing and an obsession with quality. Due to this connection, each diner can start their experience with an assortment of Red Apron charcuterie including handmade salamis, pates, rillettes, and other cured meats.

The menu created by Nathan Anda is fun and focused --built to enjoy every night of the week with a mix of bar snacks and mains including the Butcher’s Cut served with herbed butter and red wine sauce, Rotisi-fried Chicken, and The Italian Beef Burger, a double patty with Italian beef, fontina, giardiniere and a just dipped bun. The 12 constantly rotating draft lines will highlight Engert’s favorite of the moment craft beer selections, while the bottles list is sourced from the very best American craft brewers from local producers to international rarities. The list will satisfy all manner of beer with crisp refreshing lagers, hopped-up American ales, richly-malted brews, dark and roasty sippers, Belgian brews both from the old and new school, as well as smoky treats, and an expansive assortment of nearly 50 sours including authentic Lambics.

Brent Kroll’s 120 bottle wine list emphasizes old world and earthy wines with some older Italian vintages, a selection of local product and unique styles such as wine aged under flor, organge wine, and of course lambruscos –all which pair exceptionally with the menu. B Side has 20 wines available by the glass that will rotate frequently and offers each of their selections by the half glass, full glass and half bottle.
B Side caps off with a cocktail menu by Jeff Faile, featuring 10 creations all named after famous B Side tracks like the Don’t Let Me Down with Sobieski, grapefruit, St. Germain, and Tabasco simple syrup. Faile’s list focuses on balanced and herbaceous drinks resulting in extremely food-friendly selections.
B Side is located at 8298 Glass Alley, Suite 105 in Fairfax, VA within the Mosaic District community. B Side is open Sundaythrough Thursday from 4 PM till 10 PM and Friday & Saturday until 11 PM. The bar is also open to guests during the day on weekends beginning at 11 AM, when they can order from the Red Apron menu of sandwiches, artisan hot dogs and burgers.
