New Vienna Alerts System to Debut on Sept. 1

The Town of Vienna recently announced its new Vienna Alert system will launch Sept. 1, notifying its subscribers of news and information from throughout the community.

A town news release explains the user-friendly alert system can personalize alerts tailored to a particular subscriber, making it a unique new way for residents to stay informed. The subscriber can select his or her preferences from among a number of categories, including special city news, geo-targeted weather alerts, emergency announcements, public safety education, government closures, town services reminders and more.

The new alert system will also send alerts via its mobile app, text messages, emails and automated telephone calls. Residents must subscribe to the alert system before downloading the mobile app.

Registration for the new alert system will begin on Sept. 1, and the town assures its residents can continue to use the current alert system through Sept. 30 as the town makes its transition to the new system.
