Nielsen's Frozen Custard Closed; Seeking New Location

The frozen custard store says they are looking for a new location to reopen in Vienna.

VIENNA, VA -- If you haven’t noticed, Nielsen’s Frozen Custard recently closed its doors in Vienna, in late December, with promises to reopen in a new place in town come March.

“We will be open today for a last hurrah... Just picked up more custard about to start running it. Help me sell out!!!” the store posted on its Facebook page back on Dec. 21.

The store was located at 144 Church St. NW.

Plans call for reopening the store, according to a post on their Facebook page: “As a lot of you know we will be closing the Church Street location on Sunday December 20th but will be reopening in Vienna as soon as we can. The target date is March 1st but could change. Exactly where in Vienna is still being finalized but will be announced once everything is finalized.”

Jenny and Michael Willis bought the store from relatives in 2010, according to a story that year in the Vienna Connection; the following year, Willis was arrested for failing to pay the Town of Vienna meals tax; police issued five misdemeanor warrants for Willis, also charging him twice for failing to obtain a business license.
