No Trash Pickup This Week in Vienna: Town

After a blizzard hit the area, Vienna is still digging out and cleaning up snowy roadways.

VIENNA, VA -- All sanitation services are cancelled for this week in the Town of Vienna, as cleanup efforts continue after a blizzard that smacked the area with 2 feet of snow.

All trash pickup services for this week have been cancelled so that resources can be dedicated to continued snow cleanup efforts and due to accessibility issues, a Town spokeswoman said.

The Town will return to the regular trash and recyclables pickup schedule next week. Residents are asked to put out only trash and recyclables next week; please no bulk items so that Town staff can “catch up” on sanitation services.

If you live in Fairfax County:

To ensure the safety of trash truck drivers, Fairfax County has suspended the requirement for trash and recycling collection for the week of Jan. 25-30 for all collection companies operating in the county. This will provide the opportunity for workers to clear streets to allow travel to resume safely. Snow-covered roads make trash and recycling collection very difficult.
