VIENNA, VA — A Northern Virginia roofing company's "Free Roof for the Holidays" program is preparing to launch ahead of the holiday season.

DryHome Roofing and Siding owner Steve Gotschi, who grew up in Vienna, provides a free roof to a Northern Virginia individual family or nonprofit in need each year. The "Free Roof for the Holidays" program is geared toward thanking customers and helping the less fortunate have a safe roof over their heads. Since the program began, the Sterling-based company has donated 18 roofs valued at nearly $175,000.

Nominations for the 2020 "Free Roof for the Holidays" program will be open from Nov. 1 to 30. The winner will be announced in December.

Past winners have included a Stafford mother of three who lost her husband, a Vienna mother who was struggling following a difficult divorce, a Leesburg widow and mother of two young children, the nonprofit Cornerstones that serves the homeless, Doorways for Women and Families’ Safehouse, a Loudoun school bus driver, Good Shepherd Alliance, Falls Church Cub Scout House, and Gabriel Homes.
