Oakton Man Assaults Officer, Disrupts Traffic: Police
Police say the man assaulted an officer and was abusive toward paramedics.

VIENNA, VA—An Oakton man was arrested after reportedly assaulting an officer in Vienna Sunday, Aug. 5, police say.
Police found a man walking in traffic near the the McDonald's, 544 Maple Avenue West around 6:49 p.m. The officer determined the man was heavily intoxicated and was becoming aggressive. Backup was called to help get him into custody.
As the man was being handcuffed, he assaulted the officer. Paramedics arrived to the scene to evaluate him, but police say he became abusive toward them.

The 33-year-old man from Oakton was arrested and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, drunk in public and obstruction of justice. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

A citizen returned to his parked vehicle and noticed that a window was broken out.

Burglary: 9800 block of Sunrise Rd., 8/8/2018, 4:30 a.m. A resident woke up after hearing someone inside his garage. The lights in his garage were turned on, his back door was wide open, and there were several footprints leading away from the home. Nothing was damaged but several items were stolen.
