Vienna's Oktoberfest Marks 10 Years Of Beer, Food And Fun

From beer to musical and authentic German food, there's plenty to be excited about for Vienna's Oktoberfest.

VIENNA, VA—Beers lovers' favorite time of year is approaching, and in Vienna, you don't need to leave to enjoy beer, food and entertainment for Oktoberfest.

You hardly need a reason to enjoy a cold one any day, but there's all the more reason during the local festival that draws around 20,000 people each year. The town's 10th annual Oktoberfest is set for Saturday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on historic Church Street near the Town Green. Admission is free.

New to this year's festival are additional beer, food, vendors and entertainment. Vienna's own Caboose Brewing Company and Mill Street Food & Beer will serve up domestic brews. If you want to bring friends that prefer wine, fear not; Vienna Vintner will be offering options for them.

Like any good Oktoberfest, the event will feature German food at the Caboose Beer Garden, along with a dozen other food vendors.

Throughout the day, 18 music and dance groups will perform, starting with the Bobby Thompson Blues Band opening at 11 a.m. There will also be a DJ and local favorites like Rocknoceros, Sexton’s German Band, Ocho de Bastos, PB&J Band, The Rockits, and 2017 Vienna Idol winner Louise York. Performers will keep attendees entertained on three stages.

Other entertainment includes a handcrafter's market with over 60 vendors, a business expo, classic and new car show, Vienna Singing Princesses, paint-your-own-pottery activity held by Kiln & Co. and more.

Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Vienna Business Association and Town of Vienna. The event will go on, rain or shine. Parking is available throughout the commercial area but not on private properties.
