Paper Shredding, Food and Sneaker Donation at Franklin Farm Sept. 25th

Multipurpose Event Sponsored by Assistance League and Franklin Farm Social Committee to Support Community Programs

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is partnering with the Franklin Farm Social Committee for another combined Paper Shredding, Sneaker, and Food Donation Event on Sunday, September 25, from noon to 3 pm., in the Dairy Lou Parking Lot at 13501 Franklin Farm Road, Herndon. The Social Committee will collect nonperishable food for a local food pantry and 2022 White House Ornaments will be available for purchase from Assistance League.

This is a great opportunity to clean out your files by bringing your unwanted paper items for shredding. Only paper items can be accepted for shredding. No plastic, aluminum, wood or metal. The nonprofit reserves the right to limit quantities.

A donation of $10 or more is suggested (Cash or Checks preferred; Credit Cards accepted). Your donation will help the students and their families at the local elementary schools that Assistance League serves.

In addition to accepting items for shredding, Assistance League is also collecting gently used sneakers as a fund-raiser through its partnership with GotSneakers. Only pairs of athletic shoes can be accepted. No work boots, flipflops, Crocs, or metal cleats. GotSneakers provides the shoes to those who can’t afford quality sneakers, or recycles those not usable by others.

During this event the Franklin Farm Social Committee will be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food items for the Community of Faith Food Pantry. Please bring your food donations and help relieve hunger in our community.

The 2022 White House ornament will be available for purchase. This year’s ornament depicts the cherished tradition of displaying gingerbread houses in the State Dining Room during the holidays. Included with this boxed keepsake is a gingerbread-scented booklet and a recipe card. The price is $23.

Help with three important projects in one trip, and also get a head start on the holidays!
